Computer Networking Lab

IThe Computer Networking Laboratory for ITEC 420 contains several PC's equipped with ethernet and token ring adapters. It provides students with hands-on experiences with practical aspects of data communications using PC's. For example, students learn how to design and implement a peer-to-peer local area network or LAN using three different topologies: a thinnet bus configuration, a token ring configuration using a multistation access unit, and a star configuration using a concentrator. All LAN's use Windows 3.11 for Workgroups. By the end of the course, students learn how to implement a hybrid LAN as well as a client/server network using windows NT.
