Computer-Aided-Manufacturing Lab
The CAM Lab is a fully equipped manufacturing work cell with a FADAL CNC
vertical machining center, a Cincinnati Milacron CNC vertical machining
center, two Cincinnati Milacron CNC turning centers, and a Brown & Sharpe
coordinate measuring machine (CMM). The labs are used by students in ITEC
345 (CNC Technology) & ITEC 442 (Advanced CNC Technology) classes after they
have completed ITEC 344 (Manufacturing Processes) . Students learn how to
program all of the machines mentioned above, both manually and using CAM
software. These hands-on courses expose students to all facets of
computerized manufacturing, including proper setup techniques, logical
programming sequences, safety aspects, efficient programming techniques, and
statistical process control. Both courses include projects the students
manufacture based on their own programming.
